July 2, 2025

- Reviewed and approved minutes from June Board Meeting as amended.
- Treasurer’s Report
- No transactions took place in June 2025. Current assets are $2,068.90.
- Old and Ongoing Business
- Non-Profit Status: MNA is approved by the IRS to file Form 990-N for small non-profits with revenue under $5,000.
- Bank Appointment: Ali Parent moved and Susan Patania seconded that the MNA Board will open a non-profit bank account at Wells Fargo. The vote to approve was unanimous. All officers will attend an appointment at Wells Fargo at 2:00 p.m. on July 25 to open the account.
- Safe Streets MiniGrant Program: The City requested more information in some areas of MNA’s grant application. A revised application will be submitted for the next cycle by the deadline on Dec. 31, 2025.
- Proposed Watershed Park: The project continues. Minor changes have been made in the plan. Pictures of the site will be posted on the web page as the project progresses.
- Restrictive Covenants: Harold Hallikainen obtained a sample application that home owners can use to have existing racist and anti-Semitic language removed from their deeds. Harold will complete and submit the application for his home to see what the process is like. His application can serve as a template for others to use if desired.
- Bike Boulevard: The number of speed humps along Sahara must be limited due to heavy rain runoff. The plan is to make a greenway connecting the Speedway-Broadway segment of the Boulevard to the Golf Links segment.
- Invitation to Ward 6 “Homeless Huddle:” Karen Ulich invited one representative from every Ward 6 neighborhood association to meet and discuss the impact of homelessness on their neighborhoods. The meeting is on July 22, and Advisor Jennifer Beard will represent Mitman.
- Open Discussion: The Board agreed that the next meeting will be on September 3, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. The agenda will focus on planning for the neighborhood-wide meeting in October.
- Adjournment: The President adjourned the meeting at 8:08 pm.
