New Requirements on Hard To Recycle Plastics

New Requirements on Hard To Recycle Plastics

Starting July 1, 2024, “hard to recycle” plastics (such as plastic bags) will need to be put in Hefty ReNew orange bags for recycling and dropped off at the recycling center at the Ward 6 office. Hefty ReNew bags are available at local retailers such as Fry’s and Walmart. Starting July 1, the Hefty ReNew bags must be used (clear plastic bags were acceptable previously). Eventually, the city may allow us to put the orange bags in our blue recycle bin for pickup, but that is not the case right now. Hard to recycle plastics must now go in a Hefty ReNew bags and be dropped off at a recycling center such as the one at the Ward 6 office.
