Annual meeting

Mitman Neighborhood Association’s annual meeting is  Thursday, October 11 from 6pm – 7:30pm at the Van Buren Apartments, 625 N. Van Buren.        Agenda items:

Welcome

6pm:  Bonnie Medler, Ward 6 office

6:10:  Hope Cramer,  Special Staff Assistant to Supervisor Richard Elías Pima County Board of Supervisors, District Five, will introduce herself and provide contact information

6:30: Vote for Mitman Officers, 2012-2013 term

6:35:  Financial report from Treasurer

6:4o:  Circle K representative [no name given as of Oct. 3]

7:00:  Gabe Wigtil, Mitman neighbor will set up a listserve and explain how to use it; possible block clean up on Hawthorne

7:10: Open discussion

This Week around town

Household Hazardous Waste Collection – Saturday, April 28, 8:00 am to noon

On Saturday, the Blenman Elm and Central Tucson Neighborhoods Household Hazardous Waste Collection will be holding a collection site in the North Parking Lot of Himmel Park (First St. and Tucson). They are not able to take prescription drugs, other medications, or tablets. To view a list of what materials they can take, please visit www.tucsonaz.gov/hhw

The Neon Mile – Historic Open House and Tour, April 28, 9:00am, join the Historic Preservation Foundation for a tour of the historic signs, motor courts, and much more. There will also be lectures on historic signs and highway history. The tour will start at Pima College Downtown Campus (Stone and Drachman). Visit  www.preservetucson.org for more information.

7:05-7:15    David Bradley, President Thunderbird Heights Neighborhood Association [our neighborhood to the east of Mitman] to talk briefly about  what’s happening in their neighborhood
